Things I do .
Hem Strengelag:
is a group coming out of Knut Hem`s recording "Once
In A Very Blue Mood". It`s been a lot of appearances in the
club "Muddy Waters" over the last three-four years with
great picking friends, Lars Håvard Haugen on guitar, Terje
Kinn on banjo & guitar & voice, Knut on dobro & weissenborn
and myself as I am, bassing and singing. Very few gigs have been
outside Oslo, but I`m sure we`ll blow anybody off the stage in any
hot bluegrass festival any place on earth. In search of a "better" name
for the band, we came up with "Hemmingbirds" last time
we played. Time will tell if that`s gonna be taken to further considerations.
Strrrengt:
An exceptional duo with Terje Kinn, my long time partner,
and we still play together almost everytime someone ask us to. Terje
plays banjo & guitar & sings. We are loaded with songs we
like to play and treat them to the edge of recognition, along with
a humorous way of delivering goods. Bluegrass & ballads, goodtime & ragtime,
a bit of Beethoven and whatever fits the situation...
My fiddling uncle Asbjørn Bøgeberg
Because of my fiddling uncle Asbjørn Bøgeberg, I have become very fond of traditional folk music especially from around the area where I was born, Sør-Trøndelag. Sometimes we gather and play and even get out to public along with my brother and his son, 3 generations Bøgeberg on the same stage, it happended twice in april 2004, it may happen again, you never know.
